BACKGROUND:
The City Manager awarded Contract 19-033 to Advanced Data Technologies (ADT) on March 1, 2019 for a one-year term with four, one-year options to extend.

The purpose of this contract is to have a certified Systimax installer install and/or repair data and telephone cabling on an as-needed basis. This contract was primarily setup as an Information Technology (IT) contract to complete smaller projects as necessary in various City facilities which included Electric, Water, Fire and Police Departments.

In April 2020, the City Manager awarded the first one-year option to extend.

DISCUSSION:
This change order is requested to increase the authorized not to exceed amount to Contract 19-033 so that sufficient funds are available to pay for the necessary data network and telephone cabling for the new Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) telephone system.

On June 2, 2020, City Council awarded Contract 19-196 to Intrado Life & Safety Solutions Corporation. The purpose of Contract 19-196 is to provide the City with the Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) telephone system. NG9-1-1 provides the delivery of ubiquitous, robust, and reliable 9-1-1 service to the City's residents and visitors. When the NG9-1-1 Contract 19-196 was being negotiated, the data network and telephone cabling portion was removed as it was deemed too expensive and the NG9-1-1 vendor (Intrado) was not familiar with our data network infrastructure.
