BACKGROUND:
In February 2024, Water Utilities issued Bid 23-121, 2024 Lead Water Service Replacement Program.

The Lead Water Service Line Replacement Program is a City initiative to replace all known lead service lines with copper water service lines starting in 2024. This work will continue as long as necessary to remove all lead water service lines from the system. Work includes the replacement of the entire length of the water service line, from the water main to inside the residence at no cost to the property owner.

The work contained in this contract will be completed in 2024 with subsequent years being bid separately. With approximately 335 known lead water services throughout the City, completion of the full program is anticipated to take several years. The 2024 project includes the full replacement of approximately 40 lead water services in an area generally located between Washington Ave. and Loomis St. and 4th Ave. and Benton Ave. The 2024 replacement schedule is outlined in the attached map.
