BACKGROUND:
The City Manager awarded Contract 23-284-0.01 to Garland/DBS, Inc. on November 1, 2023 for a two-month term ending on 12/31/2023. The purpose of this contract is for roof repairs and removal of a decommissioned generator exhaust stack and fresh air louvers at the Northeast Waterworks (NEWW)/Pressure Adjusting Station 15D (PAS 15D). The stack and louvers need to be removed and their cavities, in the roof, repaired to seal for security and protection from rain, snow, and cold. Blistering in the roof will also be corrected at this time.
DISCUSSION:
This Change Order is requested to extend Contract 23-284-0.01 for an additional 12 months to complete the requested repairs to the NEWW roof. Weather conditions prohibited the execution of these repairs before the original completion date of December 31, 2023.
The term of the contract is extended to a completion date of December 31, 2024, with a contract closeout date of February 15, 2025.

The requested change order adds time only and does not change the value of the contract. The work can be accommodated within the 2024 budget.
