body

DEPARTMENT: Transportation, Engineering and Development

SUBMITTED BY: William J. Novack, Director

BACKGROUND:
The City has critical structural transportation infrastructure including, but not limited to, bridges and retaining walls. The City does not have sufficient staff or technical personnel to conduct certain inspections, preliminary and design engineering services for structural projects; therefore, assistance is needed from qualified engineering firms.

On April 16, 2019, the City Council awarded Contract 19-023 for structural engineering services to the four most qualified consulting firms for a two-year term starting May 8, 2019, with three, one-year options to extend. Option Year One was subsequently approved on May 27, 2021. Option Year Two was approved on September 1, 2022.

The awarded consultants include:

* Ciorba Group, Inc.
* Engineering Resource Associates
* Civiltech Engineering, Inc.
* TranSystems Corporation

DISCUSSION:
Based upon the vendors' performance, the TED Business Group would like to extend the contracts for the third option year. The four shortlisted consulting firms have agreed to maintain the rates and terms provided in each of their Master Services Agreement.

The term of this third and final option year is May 8, 2023 to May 7, 2024.

FISCAL IMPACT:
This award is for the designation of shortlisted firms that will provide engineering services for capital improvement projects (CIP) to construct, maintain, and/or improve bridges, retaining walls and other such structures.
