DEPARTMENT:                     Transportation, Engineering and Development

SUBMITTED BY:                     William J. Novack, Director

BACKGROUND:

In June 2019, the City Council awarded Contract 19-112 to Civiltech Engineering Inc. to perform the Phase 2 design engineering services to upgrade the streetscape along Webster Street, Jefferson Avenue, Main Street, and Jackson Avenue.  The award amount for this work was $128,831.35.

DISCUSSION:

As part of the original scope of work, the City required the consultant to respond to two (2) rounds of comments from the Development Review Team prior to completing the final bid documents for advertisement. Due to the complexity of the project, inclusion of all City utilities, and continued input from businesses and property owners, a third review cycle is required.

This change order provides compensation for the additional hours the consultant will need to respond to the additional review cycle comments.

FISCAL IMPACT:

CIP# MP009 - Maintenance Improvement Program

Downtown Phase II Engineering Services are expensed to the Architect and Engineering Service account listed below. There is no budget for this in 2020, although the original budget for this project was $250,000 in 2019. This change order will be accommodated by the savings in the 2020 MIP.
