BACKGROUND:
The City Council awarded Contract 17-084 to Engineering Resource Associates, Inc. (ERA) on May 16, 2017 for a 43-month term from June 6, 2017 to December 31, 2020,
with two, one-year options to extend. The purpose of this contract is to provide ongoing
engineering/design support to the Riverwalk Commission.
DISCUSSION:
During the original term of the contract, ERA provided resources for the Moser Tower assessment such as the curb repair on the east side of the Paddle Boat Quarry, as well as assistance developing the Riverwalk 2031 Master Plan and routine Riverwalk activities (e.g. wall monitoring and signage design). Their input during the two monthly Riverwalk Commission meetings has been beneficial to support and planning efforts.
Based upon the vendor’s performance, the Transportation, Engineering and Development Business Group (TED) recommends extending the contract for the first option year. ERA has agreed to maintain the rates and terms provide for under the contract.
The term of the first option year is January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021, with one, one-year option remaining on the agreement.

Riverwalk Consultant is expensed to the Architect & Engineer and Infrastructure accounts listed below. The amounts requested below represent the proposed 2021 budget amounts, as the contract will take place during 2021. It is anticipated that there will be sufficient funds to accommodate this request.
