BACKGROUND:
The Electric Utility purchases various insulated conductors on an as-needed basis to be inventoried at the Electric Service Center. The conductors are of various types and sizes used in the extension and/or replacement of electric distribution facilities and infrastructure, ensuring the availability of a power source to the customers of the Electric Utility.
DISCUSSION:
In August 2017, the Electric Utility issued Bid 17-165 soliciting bids for insulated conductors.

Insulated conductors are maintained in the inventory account. Based on historical usage, this contract is expected to support insulated conductor purchases through CY2018. A total of $1.5 million has been budgeted for all inventory purchases in CY2017. Additional funds will be requested as part of the CY2018 budget to accommodate the anticipated expenditures from this contract.
