BACKGROUND:
The City Council awarded Contract 17-084 to Engineering Resource Associates, Inc. (ERA) on May 16, 2017 for a 43-month term from June 6, 2017 to December 31, 2020, with two, one-year options to extend. The purpose of this contract is to provide ongoing engineering/design support to the Riverwalk Commission.
On May 5, 2020, City Council awarded change order #1 to add $134,300 to the original award to include funding for the assessment of the Moser Tower which houses the Millennium Carillon.
On October 20, 2020, City Council approved the award of Option Year One for $167,500. The term of the option year is January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021.
DISCUSSION:
This change order is requested to add $1,356.58 to cover additional operational consulting costs paid in 2020. The Riverwalk Commission spent considerable effort in developing their 2020 Master Plan and the hours needed from the consultant exceeded the hours anticipated with the initial award. The change order compensates for the additional consulting hours the Commission needed from the consultant to write up and edit the document, which went through significant revisions due to public participation and feedback.
Sufficient funds are available in Riverwalk 2020 operating budget line item 30291100-531309 (Other Professional Services) to cover this overage.
