BACKGROUND:
Unit 450 was reviewed and approved by the Fleet Services Manager for replacement in the 2026 budget. Vehicles are scored for replacement based on four criteria: age, usage, condition, and repair costs. Recommending a vehicle to be replaced requires a score of 28.0 or greater. Unit 450 scored 35.73.
DISCUSSION:
Unit 450 is a 2009 Hoist P360 pneumatic forklift used by the Electric Utility Warehouse Division to move transformers and other oversized and heavy material required to maintain City electric infrastructure. The retired forklift will be traded in to Atlas Toyota Material Handling for $50,000 as part of the purchase of the new forklift. The unit will be replaced with a current model year Toyota THD3600-24 pneumatic forklift for the same operational use
Staff has identified an approved cooperative contract, Sourcewell Cooperative Contract #053024-ATY through Atlas Toyota Material Handling, for the procurement of the new forklift. Using the City's specifications, Atlas Toyota Material Handling has quoted the pneumatic forklift in the amount of $287,399; a cost breakdown is provided below.
