BACKGROUND:
The Naperville Police Department (PD) building was constructed in 1990 and currently serves a working population of approximately 275 employees. Several areas within the PD have age-related issues, lack sufficient technology, and require security improvements. As part of capital improvement project MB219, Police Department Building Renovations, staff has identified the evidence and crime scene area remodel as a priority for 2026.
In March 2026, the Police Department issued Bid 26-101, Police Department Evidence Area Remodel, for the renovation of the evidence storage prep and analysis areas, as well as office areas for crime scene and evidence technologists. The scope of work includes demolition, rebuilding, and updating systems along with the installation of casework, flooring, ceiling system replacement, and fixtures.
