BACKGROUND:

The City Manager awarded Work Order 22-067C to Ciorba Group on May 2, 2023, with a completion date of September 29, 2023.

The purpose of Work Order 22-067C is to prepare construction drawings and technical specifications for the replacement of the water main on Ogden Avenue from Washington Street to Wright Street and Washington Street from Ogden Avenue to Bauer Road.

DISCUSSION:

This Change Order is requested to extend the completion date from September 29, 2023, to December 1, 2024.

Due to budget considerations, the start of construction was moved from the spring of 2024 to the spring of 2025.  Engineering design was subsequently shifted into 2024 to ensure all existing conditions are accounted for on the design and permitting for the project.

Staff recommends approval of a Change Order to ensure the engineering design may be completed as specified.  There is no change in the consultant scope or fee related to this Change Order request.

FISCAL IMPACT:

CIP #: WU403 - Ogden & Washington Water Main Improvements

The requested Change Order is for an extension of time only and does not increase the contract’s value. The work can be accommodated within the 2024 budget.
