BACKGROUND:
As a nationally accredited outdoor history museum Naper Settlement (NS) maintains an ongoing commitment to high-quality collection, preservation, and display of historical objects and buildings for the community through careful selection of maintenance services and programs. The Buildings & Grounds Department at Naper Settlement is responsible for maintaining all buildings within the Settlement property, as well as the Collections Care Artifact Storage Facility located at Fort Hill Drive. The B&G Department forecasted and budgeted this Paw Paw Post Office cyclical exterior painting project for mid-late June 2023. Preserving this building's exterior is essential for meeting the department's mission of maintaining the institutions' historic assets. This project work will incorporate minor repairs to siding, porch lattice work, caulking, sanding, scraping, priming, and painting of the entire building, including the porches, ceiling, railing, stairs, and the ADA ramp on the south side of the structure.

DISCUSSION:
Robe, Inc. performed well as the JOC provider for Naper Settlement's JOC awarded projects during the City's original two-year term. First quarter 2023 Naper Settlement was not seeing positive preliminary interest from potential paint vendors, new or previously used in past projects. Many outside vendors indicated they were scheduled full already but might have availability closer to late fall which goes past the Buildings & Grounds scheduled timeframe.
