BACKGROUND:
City Council awarded Contract 22-039 to Williams Brothers Construction on July 20, 2022, with a final completion date of July 30, 2023.
The purpose of this contract is to construct a UV disinfection facility for the disinfection of wastewater effluent at the Springbrook Water Reclamation Center.
DISCUSSION:
This Change Order is requested to extend the final completion date from July 30, 2023, to July 30, 2024.
This is a time extension request due to delays in equipment delivery beyond the control of Williams Brothers Construction. The construction industry has continued to experience a shortage of equipment components and construction materials, creating delays in projects while increasing the cost of those projects.
For these reasons, staff recommends extending the final completion date to July 30, 2024.
FISCAL IMPACT:
CIP: WW002 - SWRC UV Disinfection Installation
There is no fiscal impact associated with this change order. The change order is for an extension of time. Staff will re-budget unspent funds associated with this project to the 2024 budget.
