BACKGROUND:

The City Council awarded Contract 22-031, Electric Substations - Springbrook Fixed Axis Solar Photovoltaic System, to GRNE Solar in July 2022.   Per the contract, GRNE Solar is responsible for the design, installation, operation and maintenance of fixed axis solar photovoltaic systems at three Electric substations (Jefferson, Modaff and Route 59).

The contract completion date is December 31, 2022.

DISCUSSION:

GRNE Solar was scheduled to begin the work in 2022. However, in October the vendor notified the Electric Utility that they were experiencing delays in the supply chain for the photovoltaic material and would not be able to complete the project by the contract completion date.

This change order is requested to extend the completion date of the project to June 30, 2023. Work will resume in the first quarter of 2023.
