BACKGROUND:
In April 2022, the City Manager awarded Contract 22-010 to Rossi Contractors, Inc. for an amount of $99,398 plus a 5% contingency, with a completion date of 10/29/2022. The contract includes two one-year options to extend for the replacement of additional sanitary manholes in 2023 & 2024.
DISCUSSION:
This change order is requested to add an additional $12,353 due to unforeseen underground utility conflicts which will require the removal and replacement of 10” storm main, and the unmarked gas main and includes the cost of removing, forming, and pouring of concrete for the electrical duct bank prior to replacing the manholes.
The amount of this change order exceeds the original contract amount by $12,353 and the original contract expiration date by 61 days.
This contract was approved with contingency in the amount of 5% of the original contract value and 29 days. Staff is not requesting the use of contingency funds
