CIP#: BR031 - Downtown Washington Street Bridge Project

In the joint funding agreement, the total City share is $3,244,600, which includes construction costs of $3,034,000 and construction engineering costs of $210,600, which is after federal reimbursement.  However, the City needs to pay for construction engineering services upfront and will be reimbursed after payment is made.  Therefore, the City must allocate a total amount of $4,087,000 in the budget, which includes the local share of construction costs at $3,034,000 and full construction engineering services cost at $1,053,000. The budget for construction engineering services is discussed in agenda item 22-1027.

The construction cost of $3,244,600 is made up of the City’s 20% share of the bridge replacement and the entire costs of the electric, water and wastewater utility replacement work.  The City’s share of the construction cost will be expensed to the Infrastructure accounts listed below in the 2023 budget.  Staff is also evaluating the potential use of Rebuild Illinois Fund dollars currently held in the Motor Fuel Tax Fund.
