BACKGROUND:

The City of Naperville and between Indian Prairie School District (ISPD) 204 have partnered to make revisions to the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding School Resource Officers (SRO). 

 

DISCUSSION:

At its July 18, 2022 meeting, the ISPD 204 Board of Education approved the MOU which included the following updates: 

 

1.                     Practices that reflect current legislation

2.                     Language that reflects expectations for collaboration between the Naperville Police Department and ISPD 204 administrators

3.                     Language that is aligned with the SRO job description

4.                     Clarification regarding the application of Naperville Police Department and ISPD procedures for positively supporting and managing student behavior

5.                     Information directly pertaining to the state law regarding the implementation of body worn cameras  

 

The attached MOU reflects the collaborative efforts to maintain safety and support across the school community. 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

ISPD 204 funds 50% of the salary and benefits of the assigned School Resource Officers during the regular school term.
