BACKGROUND:

The purpose of this contract is to work with a qualified and experienced consultant to perform a study that will allow the Electric Utility to create informed, proactive and cost-efficient policies as well as plan capital improvements as they relate to distributed energy resources.

The City Council awarded Contract 21-192 to CMY Solutions, LLC on August 17, 2021 with an anticipated completion date of December 31, 2021 noted in the RFP document.

DISCUSSION:

This change order is requested to amend the project schedule to extend the contract completion date to December 31, 2022. The current completion date of December 31, 2021 was initially proposed by the vendor within its RFP response and included as part of the final agreement. However, upon contract commencement, staff learned that the initial completion date did not consider certain agreed-upon tasks and that more time would be needed to carry out items such as posting maps and system capacity on the City’s website.

The contract requires a formal extension to reflect the correct anticipated completion date of December 31, 2022. An amendment to the contract will be prepared to reflect this change.

Substantial progress has been made on this project and staff still intends to proceed with changes to its net metering policy by Q2 of 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This request is to extend time only, therefore there is no fiscal impact.
