BACKGROUND:

The City Council approved the Affordable Housing Work Plan on January 5, 2021. The Plan prioritized the following three recommendations that were included in the Housing Needs Assessment/Affordable Housing Plan:

1)                     Inclusionary Zoning Ordinance (IZO),

2)                     Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing (NOAH) Preservation Plan, and

3)                     Single-Family Rehabilitation Program

In July 2020, the Commission ranked and prioritized several other recommendations included in the Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice (AI) report. Two-person committees were established to assist staff in the implementation of the recommendations.

DISCUSSION:

Staff will give a status report on the ongoing implementation of the Affordable Housing Work Plan and AI items since the July 12, 2021 Human Rights and Fair Housing Commission meeting.
