BACKGROUND:
In May 2020, the City Council approved Bid 20-072 for the improvement to the Southeast Waterworks to Dahme Mechanical Industries, Inc. for the amount not to exceed $304,775. The work included staff engineering, replacement of pump number three, and additional equipment parts at the Southeast Waterworks pump station. The completion date of the contract is currently January 31, 2021.
This change order is for the Water Utilities to add 89 days to the contract so work can be completed.
DISCUSSION:
Over the past several months, Dahme Mechanical Industries, Inc. has experienced manufacturing delays on the Trillium pump and other equipment. Dahme does not expect mobilization to begin until mid to late January 2021.
Upon Council approval of this change order, the contract will end April 30, 2021. No additional funds are needed.
