BACKGROUND:
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires a public hearing prior to submission of the Consolidated Plan/Annual Action Plan. The Consolidated Plan summarizes the City’s housing and non-housing community development needs and provides a strategic plan for how CDBG funds will be spent over the next five years to meet these needs. The Annual Action Plan describes how funds will be spent during the specific program year and how these expenditures will contribute to meeting the overall goals of the Consolidated Plan.
DISCUSSION:
In accordance with HUD guidance issued March 31, 2020, a five-day public comment period and public hearing notice are required prior to submission of a Consolidated Plan and an Annual Action Plan. The revised 2020-24 Consolidated Plan and 2024 Annual Action Plan was made available to the public for review and comment beginning on July 16, 2020. The public hearing will take place on July 21, 2020 with comments accepted through July 21, 2020.
