BACKGROUND:
In May 2020, the Water Utilities issued Bid 20-076, Northwest Waterworks Booster Pump Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) Installation and South Operations Center VFD Replacement. At Northwest Waterworks, two new VFD's will be installed on pumps one and four. The new installations will better modulate the pressure and allow the station to operate more efficiently. The installation also requires modifications to the existing motor control center, existing programmable logic controller and supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA).

The contractor will also perform work at South Operations Center to replace the VFD for wastewater lift station pump 4. The existing pump VFD was installed in 2002 and is not functioning properly due to age. The work will also include replacement of power cables and signal wires between the new VFD and breaker switch.
