BACKGROUND:
In March 2019, the City Council awarded Contract 19-064 to Advanced Automation and Controls, Inc (AAC) for a one-year term from May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2020, with four, one-year options to extend. The purpose of this contract is for the Water Utilities to have a firm available to provide maintenance and troubleshooting services on the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, which remotely monitors and operates the City’s water supply, storm water pumping and wastewater facilities.
DISCUSSION:
During the original award term of the contract, AAC provided excellent service performing all SCADA\programable logic controller (PLC) work at the water, wastewater and stormwater pumping sites. ACC conducted scheduled work and provided updated documents in a timely manner. Additionally, AAC responded to several emergency/afterhours calls in a timely matter.
Based upon the vendor’s performance, staff would like to extend the contract for the first option year. The vendor agreed to maintain rates and terms provided under the contract.
The term of the first option year is May 1, 2020 to April 30, 2021, with three one-year options remaining on the agreement.
FISCAL IMPACT:
CIP #: N/A
SCADA maintenance is expensed to the operational services accounts listed below. A total of $80,000 is budgeted for various SCADA parts, maintenance and upgrade items in 2020. The remainder of this award will be budgeted appropriately in 2021.
