BACKGROUND:
In February 2020, the Transportation, Engineering and Development Department issued Bid 20-008 seeking a contractor to perform micro-surfacing and thermoplastic pavement marking removal and replacement in various locations throughout the City. This is an annual program intended to significantly extend the life of the pavement. The City will micro-surface and restripe approximately 18.5 miles of roadway throughout the City.

As part of this year's micro-surfacing program, the contractor will apply a high-density mineral bond within the cul-de-sacs located within the subdivisions being micro-surfacing. The high-density mineral bond significantly extends the life of the pavement, costs less and yields a better finish than the micro-surface in a cul-de-sac application. The streets highlighted in blue on the attached map will be micro-surfaced in 2020.
