BACKGROUND:
In December 2019, the Water Utilities issued Bid 20-001 to obtain a contractor to provide a full spectrum of services to maintain, repair and replace piping and pumping systems on the water supply, water distribution and wastewater collection and treatment systems. The system includes 22 wastewater pump stations, seven back flow prevention stations, 18 water supply sites (including standby wells), Springbrook Water Reclamation Center and the water distribution system. The work includes furnishing all labor, tools, materials and equipment required to complete the related services, repairs, replacement of mechanical, pumping and piping systems. Also, to ensure projects are completed on schedule, the service agreement includes requirements for responding to routine and emergency calls.

Pipefitting, plumbing and mechanical services are expensed to the operational services and infrastructure accounts listed below, as part of the capital improvement program. A total of $26,000 is budgeted for general operational services, while an additional $2,440,000 is budgeted for services related to capital programs WU007, WU029 and WW034. The requested award is within budget.
