BACKGROUND:

The Accessible Community Task Force (ACTF) is a citizen committee formed in August 2016 to compliment the efforts of the Advisory Commission on Disabilities (ACD).  Whereas the ACD focuses on City of Naperville facilities, programs and operations, this task force looks beyond city-owned and operated programs/facilities to assist individuals and private companies within the City.  Areas of focus include transportation, young adult and youth initiatives, business compliance, employment, education/awareness and collaboration.

DISCUSSION:

The ACTF generally meets monthly to discuss different initiatives.  This update provides the ACD with an opportunity to hear about these initiatives and determine if there is any opportunity for coordination between the groups.
