BACKGROUND:
Sponsored by the Exchange Club of Naperville, the 32nd annual Ribfest is scheduled to begin at noon, Wednesday July 3 and end at 10:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2019. The event features rib vendors from around the country as well as various other food and beverage vendors. Ribfest also features live entertainment, a carnival, and family-friendly activities.

DISCUSSION:
2019 Event Overview
Event representatives from the Exchange Club have been meeting monthly with the Special Events Team, including representatives from the Naperville Park District, Edward Hospital, and the DNA, to coordinate event logistics and plan for a safe event.

Resident Notification:
The Exchange Club is responsible for notifying residents in and around Knoch Park no less than two weeks prior to the event. City staff provides addresses to the Exchange Club for residents that may be affected.

Site Layout:
Ribfest 2019 will utilize the expanded footprint, first approved in 2010, that incorporates the north and south portions of Knoch Park. The event will feature one main stage in the north park with a smaller entertainment stage in the south park. The carnival and family area will once again be located in the south park.

Ticketing:
Date-specific tickets will be sold online. The Exchange Club has partnered with the Naperville Fire Department to determine park capacity and will not exceed a specified number of tickets per day.

Fireworks:
Weather permitting, the fireworks display will be held on opening night Thursday, July 4 with Friday, July 5 set as the rain date. Admission is free to the public after 5:00 p.m. on the date of the fireworks.
