BACKGROUND:
Earlier this year several residents addressed the City Council regarding the environment and sustainability, requesting that a formal board or commission be established to formalize the group. After consideration and discussion, it was decided that the better model to utilize would be a task force. A similar request had been made by a group of seniors several years ago that eventually ended up as the Naperville Senior Task Force which has been very successful.
DISCUSSION:
The Naperville Environment and Sustainability Task Force (ESTF) has been in place for about two months. In that short time they have accomplished much and have prepared the attached report for consideration and discussion by the City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT:
These are very broad and initial concepts. Assessing the fiscal impact at this time is neither possible nor recommended. As these concepts are developed they will be brought before the City Council when as estimate can be provided.
