BACKGROUND:
The DuPage County Division of Transportation has requested that the city provide mowing services on the medians and shoulder areas along county roads and rights-of-way within City limits. The City has provided this service for approximately 15 years and has historically mowed the following locations:

Plainfield/Naperville Road - From 75th Street to 87th Street (median only)
75th Street - From IL 59 to Palomino Drive (median only)
75th Street - Modaff Road to Wehrli Road (Rights-of-Way)

DISCUSSION:
Under the attached agreement, the locations that the City will mow for DuPage County has been updated. Beginning in 2019, the City will provide mowing and herbicide services on 75th Street, both rights-of-way and the medians, from Modaff Road to Palomino Drive. The other locations previously handled by the City will be mowed by Naperville Township. This change will provide for less confusion by contractors for both the City and Naperville Township as both the rights-of-way and the medians will be handled by the same entity for each location.

The attached agreement provides that the County would reimburse the City $50 per acre per mowing, on a monthly billing cycle, to cover the contract mowing and herbicide expenses for the next three mowing seasons. In the past agreement, the County would reimburse for mowing services for up to 10 mowing cycles. Beginning with this agreement, the maximum number of mowing cycles has been increased to twenty.
