BACKGROUND:
In February 2019, the Electric Utility solicited vendors to supply various insulated conductors which are inventoried at the Electric Service Center. The conductors are of various types and sizes and are used in the extension and/or replacement of electric distribution facilities and infrastructure, ensuring the availability of a power source to the customers of the Electric Utility.

RESCO was determined to be non-responsive because the vendor bid an incorrect item. The Okonite Co. has worked with the Electric Utility previously and provided good service.
The bid quantities reflect the Utility’s forecasted quantities for the next year. The insulated conduits will be ordered on an as-needed basis based upon the work that occurs.

The cost of insulated conductors is budgeted in the Operating Supplies account listed below. The requested award of $1,326,350 is within budget.
