BACKGROUND:
91st Street is located between Wolf's Crossing Road and Schoger Drive in the southwest quadrant of the City. It is designated as a collector street, but it is not constructed to the City's collector street standard. 91st Street currently has two lanes with ditches on both sides.

This project will bring the street up to the City's collector street standard. The work will include excavation, installation of storm sewers, bituminous paving, installation of curb and gutters, sidewalks, pavement markings and signage, installation of street lights, traffic control, soil erosion and sediment control devices, and restoration of disturbed areas.

Design and construction of this roadway was the obligation of the original developer of the Carillon Club property. When that developer went bankrupt the City went after the bonding company to fulfill the obligation. The City was able to collect $1.2 million dollars from the bonding company and two of the remaining builders on the property that was annexed as part of the Carillon Club. Essentially this roadway is being upgraded and reconstructed at no City cost since the funds to perform this work came from outside of the City.
