BACKGROUND:

The President’s Volunteer Service Awards will be awarded to the citizen volunteers serving police, fire and emergency management.  The President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation was established in 2003 to recognize the valuable contributions volunteers are making in our communities and encourage more people to service.  The Council created the President’s Volunteer Service Award program as a way to thank and honor Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire other to engage in volunteer service.

 

DISCUSSION:

The awards include a President’s Volunteer Service Award pin, personalized certificate of achievement and congratulatory letter from the President of the United States.  The Emergency Managements Citizens Corps Council, Citizens Emergency Response Team and Naperville Emergency Management Agency.  Attached is a list of the service awards, levels and hours of service for calendar year 2017.
