BACKGROUND:

The current downtown mobile vending program, as adopted per Section 3-7-11 (Downtown Food Vendor Regulations), has been administered since FY2012.  Based on the limited success of the program and the significant staff time to administer, on August 21, 2018, City Council directed staff to amend the Downtown Vendor Food Regulations to eliminate the issuance of any new downtown food vendor licenses, but permit the existing downtown food vendor (John’s Rib House) to renew their license moving forward.

DISCUSSION:

Staff has prepared an ordinance amending Chapter 7 (Peddlers and Solicitors) of Title 3 (Business and License Regulations) of the Naperville Municipal Code in accordance with the direction provided by City Council on August 21, 2018.  Staff recommends approval of this ordinance as presented.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None.
