BACKGROUND:

Sponsored by the owners of the Lantern, Old Naperville Days will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Chicago Avenue.

DISCUSSION:

First held in 2016 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Lantern, this year’s Old Naperville Days will again feature a selection of bands, a beer garden, and food from several downtown restaurants.

Specific temporary traffic control information for Old Naperville Days is depicted on the attached map and the ordinance details the No Parking/Tow Zones in the area.

Streets will be closed beginning at approximately 5:00 a.m. and will open to vehicular traffic at approximately 8:00 p.m. or as soon as the Naperville Police Department determines it appropriate based on public safety.

The event organizers and the Downtown Naperville Alliance (DNA) have notified all affected businesses of the event and road closures.

All insurance requirements will be fulfilled prior to the issuance of the Special Event permit.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The organizers of Old Naperville Days will be billed for all City services required to support this event.
