BACKGROUND:
In June of each year, in accordance with the Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/01 et seq.), the City passes a prevailing wage ordinance ascertaining wages for work performed on public works projects.
DISCUSSION:
Each year the Illinois Department of Labor (“IDOL”) determines the prevailing wages for positions on public works projects in each county of the State. The attached ordinance adopts IDOL’s rates for DuPage and Will Counties. The attached ordinance also specifies what types of landscape work are and are not covered by the Prevailing Wage Act.
