BACKGROUND:
At the February 26, 2018 SECA Grant Program workshop the City Council approved concurred with four recommendations for change to the program.
DISCUSSION:
The following recommendations were approved by the City Council:
1) Create objective criteria and associated point system to score applications
a. Create a task force to develop the scoring criteria
b. The new scoring criteria will run parallel with the current methods the Commissioners use when scoring the grant applications for CY19
2) Maintain the diversity of the SECA Grant Fund program awards
3) Reinstate the 2% annual escalator
4) Eliminate the Legacy Event category and return Ribfest and the Last Fling to the Special Events category to receive the same funding and logistic evaluation as all other events.
At their March 7, 2018 meeting, the SECA Commission will begin the discussion on implementing the approved recommendations for CY19.
