BACKGROUND:
At the November 21, 2017 SECA Grant Fund allocation workshop, the City Council directed staff to schedule a comprehensive SECA Grant Fund Review workshop in early 2018. The City Council officially approved February 26, 2018 as the workshop date.
DISCUSSION:
During the review process for the CY2018 allocations, several philosophical issues were raised regarding the mission and direction of the SECA Grant Fund. In order to most effectively move forward, the City Council has directed staff, through the SECA Commission, to conduct a review of the grant program.
Input from community groups, applicants, award recipients, staff, Council, and the Commission will be sought and distilled into recommendations to be presented at the February workshop.
Initial discussions will begin at the January 17, 2018 SECA Commission meeting.
