BACKGROUND:

The City of Naperville has been working in partnership with the Naperville Township Road District to widen the section of North Aurora Road from Frontenac Road to Weston Ridge Drive (CIP# SC033).  On April 18, 2017, the Naperville City Council awarded a contract to TranSystems to update the preliminary engineering study, prepare design engineering, and oversee the land acquisition process. (File ID#17-243)  At that time, staff indicated that an amendment to the intergovernmental agreement with the road district would be forthcoming to formalize cost participation.

DISCUSSION:

Staff recommends that the city amend the intergovernmental agreement with the road district to formalize cost participation for the next phases of the project.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The Naperville Township Road District will be responsible for 19.8% of the total project costs based on their proportionate share of the roadway, a total estimated amount of $266,000.
