BACKGROUND:

The Riverwalk 2031 Master Plan includes a project to improve the Grand Pavilion. A rendering from the plan document is attached. The scope of the Grand Pavilion project is currently not well defined.

 

At the May 14, 2025, meeting, the Riverwalk Commission directed City and Park District staff to prepare a community survey to guide the scope development for the proposed Grand Pavilion improvements.  The questionnaire was subsequently developed and posted on the City’s and Park District’s webpage between September 25th and October 9th, 2025.  The questionnaire was advertised through a variety of methods including social media, press release, signs posted along the Riverwalk, and postcards.

 

DISCUSSION:

The City received 653 responses to the survey.  The summary results from the questionnaire are attached.
