If the Commission supports the request, staff will return to a future PZC meeting for a public hearing during which the draft amendment and additional details will be shared.
BACKGROUND:
Vocational schools are currently only allowed in the I District as part of a public assembly use requiring conditional use approval. The public assembly requirements dictate that any vocational school must be not for profit to qualify as a public assembly use.
DISCUSSION:
The petitioner has requested that the code be amended to add vocational schools (for profit) as a conditional use in the I (Industrial) District. If the Commission supports the request, staff will return to a future PZC meeting with the draft amendment and additional details.
