BOARD/COMMISSION REVIEW:
The award recipients have been nominated by the Naperville Accessible Community Task Force. Councilman Hinterlong will present the awards.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Naperville annually recognizes the efforts of students in the community who make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities. This year, the Accessible Community Task Force (established in late 2016) organized the awards program and has recommended award recipients to the City Council. Previously, the award program was administered by the Advisory Commission on Disabilities.
DISCUSSION:
All award recipients were nominated by teachers and/or administrators from Community Unit School District 203 and Indian Prairie School District 204. This year Accessible Community Task Force would like to recognize five high school students. Each recipient will receive a personalized certificate of appreciation and a gift card.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Each of the five students will receive a $50 Downtown Naperville Gift Card.
