BACKGROUND:
The City Manager awarded Work Order 22-067C to Ciorba Group on May 2, 2023, with a completion date of September 29, 2023.
On April 16, 2024, City Council approved Change Order #1 to extend the design completion date from September 29, 2023, to December 1, 2024. This change in the design schedule was necessary because construction was shifted from 2024 to 2025.
The purpose of Work Order 22-067C is to prepare construction drawings and technical specifications for the replacement of the water main on Ogden Avenue from Washington Street to Wright Street and Washington Street from Ogden Avenue to Bauer Road.
DISCUSSION:
Change Order #2 is requested to cover additional costs to satisfactorily complete the engineering design of the project. During the design phase, a discrepancy was found where there was about 25% more water main to be designed than identified in the RFP.
This Change Order includes the effort necessary to perform additional surveying, design and production of the various plan sheets.
Staff recommends approval of a Change Order to ensure the engineering design may be completed as specified.

The design cost for the Ogden/Washington water main is expensed to the account number listed below. The requested change order can be accommodated within the budget due to other work being deferred in 2024.
