BACKGROUND:
The City Council awarded Contract 21-221 to SynchroGrid Limited on September 7, 2021 with an anticipated completion date of December 31, 2021 noted in the RFP document. The purpose of this contract is to work with a qualified and experienced consultant to perform the design work associated with Electric Utility transmission relay upgrades.
DISCUSSION:
This change order is requested to amend the project schedule to extend the anticipated contract completion date to December 31, 2022.
During contract negotiations, staff and the vendor both acknowledged that the proposed project schedule was too aggressive and verbally agreed to a modified project schedule with an anticipated completion date of December 31, 2022. However, the original proposed schedule was inadvertently included within the final agreement.
The contract requires a formal extension to reflect the correct anticipated completion date of December 31, 2022. An amendment to the contract will be prepared to reflect this change.
Work is well underway on this project and construction is expected to begin soon.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This request is to extend time only, therefore there is no fiscal impact.
