BACKGROUND:
Sponsored by the Naperville Jaycees, the Last Fling is scheduled for September 1-4, 2017. The event will take place on Rotary Hill and along Jackson Avenue. The Last Fling features live entertainment, food vendors, and a carnival. Also part of the weekend event is the Labor Day Parade, Rooster 5K, and the Fling Mile. This year will again feature a NCAA Central Region Women's Triathlon Championship hosted by North Central College on Monday, September 4. While the triathlon is not part of the Last Fling, it does occur during the event. As such, staff has prepared one Ordinance covering the entire weekend and it would be appropriate to approve the triathlon concurrently with the Last Fling.
