BACKGROUND:
The City Council awarded Contract 24-010 to Crossroad Construction on May 7, 2024, with a contract completion date of July 15, 2024. The purpose of this contract is to provide repairs and maintenance for three fountains along the Riverwalk: the Fredenhagen Park Fountain, the Horse Trough Fountain at Main and Chicago, and the Dandelion Fountain at Webster and Jackson.
DISCUSSION:
This change order is requested to extend the completion date 105 days from July 16, 2024, to October 28, 2024. This request is due to the sub-contractor, Fountain Technologies, who is experiencing longer than anticipated lead times to procure the electronics and lighting materials necessary to make the repairs to the Fredenhagen Park Fountain. Fountain Technologies is a sole source supplier and installer of the Crystal Fountains electronics/lighting materials specified in the contract.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is a no direct fiscal impact associated with this change order, this is just an extension of time.
