BACKGROUND:

On March 1, 2023, the City Manager awarded Contract 22-114-3, Trillium Lift Station Rehabilitation Design to Ciorba Group, Inc. with an anticipated completion date of September 30, 2024.  The purpose for this contract is for Ciorba Group to provide engineering design and construction engineering assistance for Trillium Lift Station Rehabilitation project.

DISCUSSION:

The original plan was to rehabilitate the lift station in 2024. However, during the Northeast Water Works construction, it was found that the steel storage tank had deficiencies and required immediate repairs. Therefore, staff had to adjust the project priorities and postpone the Trillium Lift Station rehabilitation to 2025.  Consequently, for Ciorba Group to complete the construction assistance, a contract extension is necessary.

Ciorba Group has requested a 457-day extension, which would move the revised completion date to December 31, 2025. The Change Order is necessary to provide the contractor with sufficient time to finish the construction assistance tasks.

The revised completion date is December 31, 2025.

FISCAL IMPACT:

CIP #: WW059 - Trillium Wastewater Pump Station Improvements

The requested change order is for an extension of time and does not increase the value of the contract. Any expenses in 2025 are anticipated to be minimal and can be accommodated within the respective CIP budget.
