Commissioner Rudolph met with Dave Della Terza, Executive Director of the Naperville Public Library and discussed current programs and activities at the library that create an opportunity to promote and educate the community on the Sister Cities program.

Lectures at the Library

Held every other Thursday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 p.m. The event is well attended by seniors. The library usually hires a speaker at a cost of $200 - $500 per event, but we have the option to invite a guest speaker at no cost. They are currently working on their schedule for December 2024 through February 2025.

Kids Crafts

Create a passive activity that involves setting out a craft on a table for a week and participants can stop by any time during regular hours. Looking for craft ideas that can be done independently with minimal mess. The library has a button-making machine that is popular. If we provide 250 blank buttons, the cost will be approximately $60.

Multi-lingual Story Time

Held on Saturday mornings and some occasional evenings. There are library staff members who are multilingual, fluent in several different languages. The director is not aware of any staff member who is fluent in the Slovakian language.
