SUBMITTED BY:                     Sydney Smith, Transportation Project Manager

BOARD/COMMISSION REVIEW:
On August 7, 2025 the Transportation Advisory Board approved a recommendation to establish one-way streets for Naper Commons subdivision. Approved 8-0. Staff concurs.

BACKGROUND:

Naper Commons had their roads finished and build out completed late June 2025. The subdivision development’s roadway plan that was reviewed by the City included one-way streets.

Naper Commons is a newer subdivision bordered by the Danada Forest Preserve (north and west), Naperville Rd (east), and Warrenville Rd (south).

DISCUSSION:

An ordinance must be passed to amend the applicable Naperville Traffic Schedules in the Municipal Code to implement the approved traffic control recommendations.

Planned one-way streets for Naper Commons:

Street

Area of Restriction

Direction

Snapper Rd

Lucent Ln to Weatherbee Ln

Eastbound

Wrenson Ave

Lucent Ln to Weatherbee Ln

Westbound

Currently, Snapper Rd and Wrenson Ave are operating and signed as one-way streets and no conversion is required. On-street parking is permitted on one-ways only where parking bays/curb indents are located.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Additional signage estimated at $3,200.
