BACKGROUND:
The Sixth Annual Naperville Women's Half Marathon and 5K is sponsored by 10xEM, LLC and is scheduled on Sunday, April 21, 2024. Due to the construction on the Washington Street Bridge several changes were made to both course routes which are highlighted below and also depicted on the attached traffic control plans.

DISCUSSION:
City staff receives a significant amount of feedback from residents and businesses regarding race and parade routes and consistently works to reduce traffic congestion and minimize inconvenience to residents, businesses, and churches. The Downtown Naperville Alliance (DNA) is a regular participant in meetings when events in, or near, the downtown are discussed and has approved both the Half Marathon and 5K routes.

The route and traffic control plans are depicted on the attached maps. The course closures are staggered and will be expertly managed by the Naperville Police Department and the Department of Public Works. The roads will reopen as runners clear each course section and are deemed appropriate by public safety personnel.

The Half Marathon will begin at 7:00 a.m. and the 5K will begin at 7:15 a.m. The last runner is expected to cross the finish line by 10:30 a.m. Select portions of the race route will be No Parking/Tow Zones and posted accordingly.

Course Flow
