BACKGROUND:
The City Council awarded Contract 23-147 to Performance Construction & Engineering, LLC with an anticipated completion date of August 2025. The rehabilitation work at the Trillium Lift Station includes replacing the existing sewage pumps, guide rails, standby generator, and automatic transfer switch, along with associated cables, conduits, and control and monitoring systems. The project also involves installing a new mixer, three new variable frequency drives (VFDs), a new motor control center, performing necessary earthwork and concrete pad construction, and installing a new pigging station. Additionally, the existing wet well, valve vault, and upstream sanitary manhole will be coated.
DISCUSSION:
As a result of an unforeseen delay in the supply chain for the utility piping valves, sewerage pumps and accessories, the contractor has submitted a request for a time extension of 269 days. Consequently, the revised project completion date will be April 30, 2026.
The Change Order is necessary to provide the contractor with sufficient time to acquire the necessary utility piping valves, pumps and accessories, complete the installation and testing, and allow for the City’s final acceptance. The requested extension will not negatively impact the operation of the current station.
The completion date of this contract has been revised to April 30, 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT:
CIP #: WW059- Trillium Lift Station Rehabilitation
The requested Change Order is for an extension of time only and does not increase the value of the contract.
